Prayer & Fasting

Mar 2, 2022

The season approaching Easter provides an incredible opportunity to re-imagine our daily rhythms by seeking God in unique and fresh ways. Christians around the world will spend a portion of this season in prayer and fasting, devoting extra time and attention to God.

We are inviting you into such a season this year as Easter quickly approaches. For some, prayer and fasting may be a new experience, so we are providing a few links below to articles that give a little more detail. We are also giving some specific areas where we sense God leading Hillside to pray during this period.

Whether you are fasting from food, social media, TV, or some other thing that distracts you from unhurried time seeking God, we pray that this experience would be a time of renewal and restoration.

An Invitation to Prayer and Fasting

  • Humbling ourselves before Almighty God as we cast every care on Him. (1 Peter 5:6-11)
  • Abiding in God’s love that in due season we can go and bear fruit for His glory. (John 15:1-17)
  • Turning away from sin and self by turning to Jesus. (Galatians 5:22-25)
  • Asking God to give us the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:17-23)
  • Seeking God’s direction so that His hope transforms our cities one story at a time. (Acts 13:2-3)
