Hospice care is often misunderstood, which can lead to confusion of what hospice is and is not. Hospice is not a place to go to die nor is it something to be feared. Hospice is not about giving up nor loosing hope. Hospice is not for people whose death is hours or days away. Hospice is a type of care that ensures the highest quality of life for those who are terminally ill with a prognosis of six months or less to live.
