Upcoming Serve Opportunities

Upcoming Serve Opportunities

Hillside has partnered with several local organizations to ease the burden of families as we move into the holiday season. Here are several great holiday specific, family and group friendly serve opportunities, even a few opportunities to get creative!

Foothill Family Shelter

Thanksgiving baskets are needed that will go out to the families in their short and long term housing programs.

Who this opportunity is for

  • This opportunity is intended for groups. Each group can decide to put one or more baskets together collectively, or decide to make it an individual project. We are hopeful that this can be an initiative that all of our community groups, women’s groups, and Life in Rhythm groups can take part in!

Details

  • Groups will need to put together a complete basket by November 12th. Baskets can be dropped off in the community center between November 11-13 if you are a part of an in person group. Zoom groups can drop off baskets (drive thru style) on November 4th from 3-5, or on November 8th from 9-12.
  • Large baskets (get creative! Can use a woven basket, cloth, or even a turkey pan).
  • Baskets need to include all of these items to ensure the families are receiving equal gifts. 1 $20.00 grocery store gift card, box of stuffing, can of cranberry, box of potatoes, can of candied yams, 2 cans of cut green beans, 2 cans of corn, 1 can of turkey gravy, 1 oven roasting pan, 1 oven roasting bag turkey size, 1 cookie, cake, or brownie mix.
  • Please wrap the basket in cellophane and tie with a bow.
