Coronavirus Updates

This is not a time for fear; it is a time for God’s people to live out the faith, hope and love that comes from Christ. We’ve never felt more clear about our vision as a church than in moments like these: We exist to see God’s hope transform our cities one story at a time.

Local Resources

In times like this, we know there are many needs in our church and community that arise, and we have put together a list of resources for those in need.

Sunday, March 15th –

Monday, March 16th-

  • Young Adults Gathering- YAM will be available on Instagram TV. See @HCCYAM on Instagram for posting information.

Out of an abundance of caution and a desire to serve our church, love our neighbors/communities, to honor our governing officials and do our part as a local church in this area, we will gather as a church virtually in as many formats as possible for our weekly ministries in the coming days. We will keep you informed as best we can.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7

Hello Hillside Family,

Like many of you, I have been actively monitoring local and global developments of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Since the early hours of this morning, I have been in a stream of conversations and meetings with both city and county officials, medical personnel, local pastors and our staff and board on how to proceed as a church. I want to share with you a number of decisions we made today in a series of meetings with church leadership.

Out of an abundance of caution and a desire to serve our church, love our neighbors/communities (particularly those who are vulnerable: the elderly and those who may be immune-compromised), to honor our governing officials and do our part as a local church in this area, for the foreseeable future, we are striving to reposition all of our in-person gatherings into various online opportunities.

Simply stated, we will not gather as a church in our brick and mortar locations until further notice. Meanwhile, our various ministry teams are beginning to work quickly to shift our efforts into solutions that will allow us to gather together online.

This Sunday at 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:30am we will have our Sunday Worship Gatherings ONLINE ONLY via livestream and we REALLY hope you and your family will join us. It’s going to be a marking moment for us as a church and you won’t want to miss it. Again, we will not be physically gathering for church at our Rancho or our Fontana location and instead we will gather virtually on hillsidechurches.com, Hillside Mobile App and Facebook. We’re also in process of getting our Hillside YouTube channel available to you as well for the livestream.

Please take an opportunity to go to those channel links and LIKE/SUBSCRIBE to stay connected. Be sure to download the Hillside Mobile App and TURN ON notifications, as we will be pushing out important updates via the Mobile App this weekend.

Additionally, ministries that have weekly rhythms of meeting on our campus: student ministries, Young Adults, Bible studies and various groups will not be meeting face to face, however, our ministry leaders are looking to develop online opportunities to continue gathering virtually.

While this has been very difficult for our teams and is a new opportunity and challenge for us, we are not alone in these critical decisions. Many other local churches are making very similar decisions and together we want to point people in our communities to the immense hope that can only be found in Jesus in a time like we’re in. As good citizens we want to be a part of our local areas proactive prevention response to try and limit the spread of this dangerous virus.

There will be a need for more communication in the coming days and we will do our very best to keep you informed with developing updates. The entire situation is fluid and seems to change by the day if not by the hour.

In the meantime, we are asking that you stay connected to Hillside in your prayers, involvement and your giving. Your generous and consistent giving provides an opportunity for God to propel His vision for Hillside’s ministry into the future even amidst these difficult times.

If you have not already set up your online giving, especially because we’re not gathering in person, please CLICK HERE to set that up at first opportunity! This will be an essential way you could help us sustain ministry efforts amidst this difficult situation. Thank you in advance for your faithful financial generosity, it’s mission critical.

This is not a time for fear; it is a time for God’s people to live out the faith, hope and love that comes from Christ. We’ve never felt more clear about our vision as a church than in moments like these: We exist to see God’s hope transform our cities one story at a time.

For continued communications from our team, you can CLICK HERE for a page dedicated to those efforts.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Aaron and the Hillside Team

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
